Every install starts with a 30 day trial of every tool. When it ends, NekoCAD becomes NekoCAD Free: the tools that make one solid part stay, the rest lock, and your files never do. Every file you made still opens, still rebuilds, and still exports to STEP, which every other CAD tool reads.

After the trial, features made with Maker tools stay in the model. They rebuild, export, and can be suppressed or deleted. Only a new one, or a change to one, needs a license.

- What can I actually do with NekoCAD Free?
- Model one solid part: sketch, extrude, cut, revolve, fillet, and chamfer, with no limit on documents or parts. Free exports STEP, which every other CAD tool reads, so your work is never stuck here. The slicer formats, STL and 3MF, and the laser formats, DXF and SVG, need a license, as do patterns, assemblies, and the hole wizard. The 30 day trial gives you everything first.
- Does a file break when the trial ends?
- No, and it never will. A fillet, a pattern, or a hole wizard feature in a file you open still rebuilds, and the model still exports at full quality. Free stops you adding a new one. Nothing you already made is ever taken back.
- What happens when my updates end?
- The version you have keeps working, offline, with no account. Your files stay openable and editable forever. You stop getting new versions until you renew.
- Does anything renew by itself?
- No. The Founders License is one payment. Before your updates end, we email you the renewal price. You choose whether to pay it.
- How many computers can I use?
- As many of your own as you like. There is no device limit. You can see each activated computer on your account and remove any of them.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, for 30 days, with no questions. Card charges show as LINK.COM* on your statement, because Stripe sells the license for us. Refund policy
- What does early access mean?
- NekoCAD works, and it changes quickly. Features move, and some have bugs. Files from early builds always open in later versions.
- What about macOS, Maker, and Lifetime?
- Windows, macOS, and Linux all ship at launch, from the same code. The Mac build is not signed yet, so macOS asks you to allow it the first time. Maker ($79), Commercial ($199), and Lifetime ($599) go on sale at 1.0, when the Founders run ends.
