NekoCADEnd user license agreement

- You own your license and everything you make with it. We claim nothing in your designs.
- Install it on as many of your own computers as you like. There is no device limit.
- When your update period ends, the version you have keeps working, offline, with no account.
- If NekoCAD ever stops, you get a final version with the license check removed, published publicly.
- One license is for one person. Sharing or reselling a license is what gets it revoked.
- NekoCAD Free allows commercial work up to $1,000 of revenue a year. Above that, buy a license.
License granted
NekoCAD LLC grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use each version of the software released during your update period, on any number of computers that you own or control, for the use that your tier allows.
Updates and expiry
A paid license includes updates for its update period. When that period ends, you may keep using every version released during it, for as long as you like. Renewal extends the period. You never need it to keep using the software or to open your files.
Each version opens the files of the versions before it. A file that you make today opens in every version that comes after it.
If NekoCAD stops
This is the promise that matters most when one person makes your CAD tool. If NekoCAD LLC stops development, closes, is wound up, goes bankrupt, or is bought by somebody who ends the product, then every holder of a perpetual license gets a final version that needs no license check at all.
That final version has the activation removed. It does not call nekocad.com, it does not need an account, it does not expire, and it keeps working after the servers are switched off and the domain is gone. It is the last version that was built, with the license check taken out, and nothing else removed.
We publish it in a place that does not depend on NekoCAD staying alive: a public release on our GitHub organization, free to download with no account, together with the source snapshot of the LGPL components that every release already carries. We also email every license holder at the address on their account. We commit to doing this before the company stops, and not after it, because a company that has already closed can not do anything.
Nothing in this agreement lets a buyer of the company, a creditor, or a successor take this away from you. A license that is already issued stays issued, and the right to that final version passes with the company to whoever owns it.
The file format is yours to keep. Your designs are on your disk, not on our server, and NekoCAD exports STEP, 3MF, STL, OBJ, DXF, and SVG, which every other CAD tool reads. If the worst happens, your work moves.
Your content
You keep every right in the designs, models, and files that you make. NekoCAD claims no ownership of them, and the software does not send them anywhere unless you choose to share them.
Open source inside NekoCAD
NekoCAD is built on open source, and the notices for every component are in the About dialog of the app and in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file of the source. Some of those components carry the LGPL, which gives you the right to the source of that component and the right to replace it. NekoCAD publishes a source snapshot for every release, and the About dialog links to it.
This agreement does not limit any right that an open source license gives you in the component that it covers. Where the two do not agree, the open source license wins for that component.
Revocation
NekoCAD may revoke a license only for a refund, a chargeback, payment fraud, confirmed resale or public sharing of the license, or a breach of this agreement. A revoked license stops new activations and updates, and the software becomes NekoCAD Free. Your files still open and export.
Warranty and liability
NekoCAD is provided as it is. NekoCAD LLC does not warrant that the software is free of errors, and it does not warrant that a model, a measurement, or an exported file is fit for a particular purpose. Check your own work before you cut, print, mill, or build from it.
To the extent that the law allows, the liability of NekoCAD LLC for any claim connected to the software is limited to the amount that you paid for the license in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing here removes a right that consumer law gives you where you live.
