The 30 day window
You can get a full refund of a license within 30 days of the purchase. You do not need to give a reason. A renewal gets the same 30 days from the renewal payment, and a cloud plan gets the same 30 days from each charge.
After 30 days we still read every message. Write to us if something went wrong, and we will do what is fair.
How to ask for a refund
Use the refund button on your account page. It is the fastest way, and it needs no reply from us. You can also write through the Contact page, or reply to the receipt email, with the email address of the purchase.
The money goes back to the card or the method that paid, usually within 5 to 10 business days. Your bank sets that pace, and not NekoCAD. We answer a message about a refund within two business days, and the refund itself sends a confirmation email with the date and the time.
Cancellation
A license is one payment, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing that charges you again. Auto-renew is the one thing that can charge you a second time, and it only exists when you pick the auto-renew price.
Cancel an auto-renew from your account page, at any time, with one button, and confirm it on the next screen. The cancellation stops the next charge and nothing else: your license keeps working, and your update period runs to its end date. A cloud plan works the same way. It runs to the end of the period that you paid for, and it does not charge again. Each cancellation sends a confirmation email that names what was cancelled, the date, and the time.
We email you before an auto-renew charge, so a renewal never arrives as a surprise. When a charge does surprise you, the 30 day refund above covers it.
NekoCAD sells no physical goods. There is nothing to ship back, and a return costs you nothing, because a refund is the whole process.
The legal right of withdrawal
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place whose law gives a consumer a right of withdrawal from a distance contract, you hold that right as well as the refund above. The legal period is normally 14 days from the day of the purchase.
Because a license is delivered at once, the checkout asks you to agree that delivery begins immediately and to acknowledge that the legal right of withdrawal ends when it does. That is what the law asks a seller to do for digital content. It does not touch our own 30 days, which stay open and which are longer than the law asks for.
To withdraw, use the refund button on your account page, or tell us in any clear statement through the Contact page. You do not have to use a form, and any clear wording is enough.
After a refund
A refund revokes the license. The app on each of your computers becomes NekoCAD Free at its next online check, and every file you made still opens and exports. A Founder number is not issued again.
Disputes and chargebacks
Write to us before you open a dispute with your bank. A refund from us is faster than a chargeback, it costs you nothing, and it keeps your account in good standing. The Contact page reaches a person, and we answer within two business days.
Stripe is the merchant of record for the sale, so Stripe answers a card dispute, with the record of the purchase: the receipt, the terms that you accepted, the delivery of the license, and this policy. A dispute that is decided against you leaves the charge in place, and the license stays as it was.
A chargeback revokes the license while the dispute is open, in the same way as a refund. When the dispute is settled in your favor the money stays with you, and when it is withdrawn we restore the license at once. We do not charge a fee for any of this.
If we cannot agree
Tell us, and ask for the decision to be read again. One person owns NekoCAD, and that person reads each one. We would rather return $49 than keep a customer who feels cheated.
