The waitlist hears first: when the Founders pre-sale opens, and when the first build ships.
The Mac build ships from the same code as the other two, and it is not signed by Apple yet. macOS refuses it the first time and says it can not check it for malicious software. That is Gatekeeper doing its job on a small company that has not paid Apple, and not a warning about this build.
To open it: try it once, then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, and press Open Anyway. You do this one time.
Until it is signed, the Mac build does not update itself. macOS refuses an update that carries no signature, so come back here for a new version. Windows and Linux update themselves as normal.
